About Us

Afriwood Media is an independent production company developing scripted and non-scripted films, TV shows, and podcasts. Founded by Haruna Seidu Soale (Zoree) with the aim of telling an emotionally compelling diversity of stories with fresh voices. We are always looking for new opportunities and are comfortable working internationally. We provide comprehensive production and location services to film crews from across the globe and help them shoot their films and photography projects throughout Africa. Afriwood Media has access to a fantastic pool of talent, including directors, cameramen, photographers, creatives, and technicians from all over the world.

Our First International Movie with Turning Point Pictures USA, “Ties That Bin”, Directed by BAFTA Award Winning Director Leila Djansi and Starring Hollywood Actress Kimble Elise, won numerous awards and was named Best Diaspora Film at the San-Diego Black Film Festival in 2012. As a result, Cotton Twine, directed by Leila Djansi and nominated for an Oscar at the Los Angeles Film Festival, was the first Ghanaian film acquired by Netflix in 2015.

In 2020, the company co-produced and released the multi-award winning and critically acclaimed film “Joseph”, a Ghana-Jamaica-Barbados co-production. The company has recently co-produced, with 7Aspect Productions, a UK/Ghanaian production movie titled “THE STORM”, which is yet to come onto the market. https://youtu.be/-Rd8zeJS-Y4 is the official trailer.

Afriwood Media is currently working on its current movie title “EKUABA” for DSTV.filming “Woman King” with Moonlight Company (SUNNY Pictures) in the development stages of various series motion pictures scheduled to go into production from 2022 to 2024 for the Jubilee project.
